KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 – The Associated Chinese Chamber and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) will be leading a local delegation comprising 101 Chinese businessmen to attend the 15th World Chinese Entrepreneurs Convention (WCEC) in London on Oct 21-23.
In a statement, the ACCCIM said the WCEC, the largest conference of Chinese entrepreneurs globally, is an important platform for this community to explore new opportunities, build up networks and foster economic cooperation.
The chamber said the upcoming WCEC in London would be the first-ever WCEC event to be held in Europe.
Meanwhile, ACCCIM president Tan Sri Ter Leong Yap said the chamber is also bidding to host the 16th WCEC ACCCIM in Malaysia in 2021, with the outcome of this bid to be announced at the closing ceremony of the WCEC in London on Oct 23.
“If ACCCIM is successful in the bid to be the next host of WCEC, I believe it will be a big boost to our country’s economic activities, investment and tourism.
“This will provide a golden opportunity for us to promote Malaysia as the gateway for Chinese businessmen around the world to gain access into different world markets, including countries along the Belt and Road, the large Muslim markets, and the ASEAN market,” he added.
