KUCHING, Oct 24 — The Sarawak Ministry of Local Government and Housing is looking at sending its staff to work for one-month stints in local councils in China.
Its minister Datuk Seri Dr Prof Sim Kui Hian who just returned from China said this would enable them to learn management styles in that country.
“Furthermore, the Sarawak government has signed three agreements with three regions in China, so I urge all department and 23 local councils under this ministry to take advantage of these agreements by sending their staff there,” he said.
Sim was speaking in his speech at the ministry’s award presentation ceremony for excellent service here today.
As many as 276 staff from various departments under the ministry received the awards.
