SHAH ALAM, Nov 5 — A total of 132 manufacturing projects were approved in Selangor between January to June this year, said Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari.
He said all the projects involved a total investment of RM5.97 billion, which created 6,628 job opportunities.
“… and we see this economic performance was the result of the success of the Smart Selangor programme which emphasises five core areas covering the quality of life, environment, economic development, labour and state fiscal,” he said at the state assembly here, today.
He said this when replying to a question by Muhammad Hilman Idham (PKR-Gombak Setia) on economic performance and measures to drive Selangor’s economic growth.
Commenting further, Amirudin said the state government would focus on major high value industries including the electronics, transportation and food sectors for a more sustainable economic growth in the future.
“The Selangor government will also continue to diversify and develop a more strategic approach to attract high quality investments to the state,” he added.
