Kuala Lumpur 16th December Bernama :   2019 China Smart Industry Trade Exhibition (CSITE) organised by China Entrepreneurs Association in Malaysia (PUCM) was successfully held on 14th to 15th December in Mid Valley Exhibition Center Kuala Lumpur. 30 technology companies from China, Singapore and Malaysia presented AI and Smart technology products from China , such as smart city concept , various Robot applications , and drone presentations and other smart products.

Organiser told Bernama that 2-day’s exhibition attracted  over 12,000 visitors and 5 MOU signed between China and Malaysia companies, which  showed Malaysia society’s strong recognition on China Smart technology .

PUCM invited YB Puan Yeo Bee Yin, Minister of  Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change , Bai Tian, Ambassador of P.R. China to Malaysia and PUCM president Dato’ Keith Li to officiate the opening ceremony.

Robot Cruzr acted as joint MC , another Robot as a serviceman to deliver mineral water to VIPs on the spot. And A drone was arranges to carry a Chinese couplet : 马中合作,科技兴国 (Malaysia-China Cooperation, Revitalizing The Country Through Science and Technology), which fully presented the China smart products    to a few hundred guests at opening ceremony.

Technology Park Malaysia for AI could be built jointly by Malaysia and China Companies 

During the opening ceremony, Yeo said Malaysia and China Companies could work together on  Technology Park Malaysia for AI . We have a lot to learn from China’s  artificial intelligence (AI) Technology . It was one of the ministry’s focuses next step to build Technology Park Malaysia for AI and develop AI and Innovation technology Companies , and we welcome  Chinese tech firms to invest and grow an ecosystem on AI technology in Malaysia.

Bai Tian : China’s innovation index world ranking jumped to 14th place

According to a report jointly issued by the World Intellectual Property Organisation, Cornell University, and the European School of Business Administration, China’s innovation index ranking jumped to 14th place in 2019, which is the only developing country among the top 15. Bai Tian said during his speech at opening ceremony.

Scientific and technological innovation is also providing continuous momentum for China’s economic growth. At present, many smart technology industry companies in China have also entered and started to expand the Malaysian market, and actively participated in the expansion and upgrade of various high-tech industry cooperation platforms and projects in Malaysia, opening up a new world for China-Malaysia cooperation. China is currently advancing the construction of the “Belt and Road” initiative, accelerating the transformation and upgrading of its economic structure, and sharing the developing opportunities with Malaysia’s comprehensive  economic transformation and the creation of a more dynamic new economy. The cooperation between high-tech and AI I industries will be a bright spot in this opportunity.

Dato’ Keith Li: PUCM will set up a special “China AI and Smart technology  committee

PUCM will set up a special “China AI and Smart technology  COMMITTEE“ . And I hope that through this committee , PUCM could work much closer with the Malaysian government and technology counterparts, organising other events to enhance AI and technological colloboration between the two nations such as trade exhibitions , forums and other activities in the future. 

Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad, Prime Minister of Malaysia, for his support for his exhibition through his congratulatory message on today’s CSITE Exhibition.  

PUCM was established in 2015 and currently has  140 members. It is the most active and locally recognised China association in Malaysia. PUCM members have invested in a variety of business sectors such as information technology, construction, mining, oil & gas, telecommunications, energy, retail, manufacturing, education, healthcare, media and tourism, and have been making a significant contribution to Malaysia’s economic development, the President Datuk Keith Li said.

He added that PUCM has been actively promoting Chinese companies and communicating with the local community through such creative methods as shooting Chinese New Year and Hari Raya video clips, holding seminars and forums, interacting with the Bumiputera community and holding charity events. PUCM also interacts regularly with local and international media.
