PUTRAJAYA, May 20 (Bernama) — The Special Ministerial Meeting agreed to allow shooting of film, drama and advertisement during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), said Senior Minister (Security Cluster), Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the green-light for filming activities will start after Aidilfitri and production companies have to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) as stipulated by the National Security Council (NSC) and the Ministry of Health (MOH).
“Among the SOP is to hold meetings and casting online, as well as the submission of all travelling records for all the production team members and artists for four weeks before starting the shooting and to ensure not more than 20 people are involved in each filming session.
“The production company is also required to appoint a safety supervisor to ensure compliance to the SOP at all stages of production. Buffet meals for workers and artists are not allowed and food should be served in individual packs,” he said at the daily media conference here today.
Ismail Sabri said make-up artists should wear face shield and wash their hands before starting work.
He said the recording of live performance involving live studio audience is still not allowed.
Meanwhile, Ismail Sabri said NSC has decided to impose hotel quarantine charges on all individuals entering the country from June 1 2020.
He said locals who return from abroad would be charged 50 per cent of the full cost of hotel quarantine at a ceiling rate of RM150 per day while non-citizens and permanent residents would be charged RM150 per day.
“The NSC meeting also decided to make it compulsory for all individuals returning to Malaysia to sign an agreement to pay 50 per cent for citizens and 100 per cent for foreigners via the nearest Malaysian embassy office.
“The embassy office involved will issue a letter of approval to return. The Immigration Department will give the order all airlines to ensure the letter of approval is a condition for all passengers,” he said.
Ismail Sabri announced that another 252 Malaysians returned home yesterday and are undergoing quarantine, bringing the overall total of returnees to 38,371 people quarantined since April 3.
A total of 30,200 individuals had completed the quarantine and were allowed to go home.
On the Compliance Operation Task Force, Ismail Sabri said police had detained 44 individuals for violating SOP and issued compounds to 51 individuals for the offence.
“Yesterday, 3,212 vehicles attempted to travel interstate on various excuses and they were ordered to turn back by police as travelling between states is only allowed for emergency or work and those with interstate travel permits issued by police,” he said.
