TUARAN, Sept 18: Former Sabah chief minister Musa Aman says Warisan president Shafie Apdal is “afraid of my shadow” as evident by his constant attacks and allegations against him.
Musa said a chief minister should focus on the state’s development rather than on politicking and playing the blame game.
“Some people say that when Shafie wakes up, he sees my face. Maybe he is afraid of my shadow even though I am not contesting nor (am I) the chief minister,” he said at an event here today, attended by PBS’ Kiulu candidate, Joniston Bangkuai.
“Which (other) chief minister after being appointed opens files to look for the mistakes of the previous government or chief minister? He should be focusing on Sabah’s development.”
Musa also accused Shafie of “only making announcements” on developments within the state.
“On the 26th, we will have an election. Remember, do not choose wrongly. If in the past they said ‘ubah’ (change), this time we ‘ubah balik’ (change back).”
On Joniston’s rival for the Kiulu seat, Wilfred Madius Tangau, Musa said the Upko president was like the “king of frogs” for causing the collapse of the Barisan Nasional-led Sabah government after the 14th general election.
“How could he, I helped him a lot before that, he (even) became a federal minister, but because of him our government fell.
“We did not lose, BN had 31 seats, Warisan and their allies had 29, but Tangau brought his assemblymen and crossed over … he is the king of frogs.”
Musa, who is Sabah’s longest-serving chief minister, said he was in Kiulu to help Joniston and PBS’ campaign.
“Joniston is a good leader and has brought a lot of change to Kiulu, so there is no reason for voters to want to change (assemblyman).”
He said Joniston was vocal on issues affecting Sabahans, including undocumented migrants and the controversial Sabah Temporary Pass.
