Beijing OCT 16 — China’s entrepreneurship and innovation measures have created many jobs and also a large number of market entities in various sectors, said Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

China’s continued efforts in deepening reform and opening-up and its innovation-driven strategy have led to tangible success, said Li at the opening ceremony of the 2020 National Mass Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week in Beijing on Thursday.

Despite the uncertainties brought by COVID-19 and the global economic recession, China has managed to stabilize its economy and achieve a quick recovery, in which the hundreds of millions of market entities with strong resilience have played a fundamental role.

Thanks to China’s entrepreneurship and innovation measures during the epidemic, the number of new market entities and businesses has increased rapidly, and micro, small and medium-sized companies have recovered quickly in recent months, said Li.

Li stressed that the country will continue to support the micro, small and medium-sized companies and individual business owners by implementing related policies, improving the efficiency and quality of entrepreneurship and innovation.

In addition, the country will continue to improve the level of openness and create a market-oriented international business environment governed by a sound legal framework to facilitate global entrepreneurship and innovation.
