KOTA BHARU, Oct 23 — The Kelantan Health Department (JKNK) will be collaborating with bus and lorry companies in the state to carry out COVID-19 screenings on drivers who have history of travelling to red zones.

Its director, Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said this is a preventive measure to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

He said the move would be implemented soon on all drivers who have entered this state from COVID-19 red zones such as Selangor.

“Apart from bus companies, JKNK will also be arranging to meet transport companies for the similar exercise,” he said when contacted today.

He said JKNK staff would be carrying out the screening test on bus and lorry drivers involved at the companies they are working.

On the development of COVID-19 in Kelantan, Dr Zaini said currently seven individuals including two women were detected COVID-19 positive and are now being treated at two hospitals in the state.

“These cases bring the cumulative total in the state to 178 since March till yesterday,” he added.
