Beijing, Oct 27 — The Chinese mainland on Monday registered 50 new asymptomatic COVID-19 cases, 26 of them were identified in northwestern Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and 24 others were from overseas, the National Health Commission announced on Tuesday.

Sixteen new COVID-19 cases were also registered on Monday, all from overseas, said the health authority.

No deaths related to the disease were reported on Sunday, and 17 COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals, the commission said. A total of 570 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.
