KOTA BHARU,  Nov 14  — The Kelantan Social Welfare Department (JKM) has been allocated RM1.4 million for flood preparations, as well as ensure sufficient supply of necessities, including food,  for victims, in the state.

Its deputy director, Siti Nor Hasma Mat Isa said the necessities had been sent to the 159 forward bases in the state since last month as an early preparation.

The department has also made preparations at the relief centres, totalling 539 in the state,  and visits had been conducted to the premises by the relevant agencies.

“We also have 17 supply depot, with the largest in Kemumin,” she told reporters after visiting the JKM depot in Kemumin, Pengkalan Chepa, here today.

She said  total of 328 JKM staff in the state would be mobilised in the eventuality of a flood in Kelantan.
