Beijing, Dec 4 — President Xi Jinping reiterated on Thursday China’s firm determination to expand opening-up to the world and contribute to global economic recovery.

Xi made the remark while addressing the 2020 Advisory Board Meeting of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management via video link. He offered his congratulations on the 20th anniversary of the advisory board’s founding.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on the world economy and rising unstable and uncertain factors in the international situation, Xi underlined the importance of all countries strengthening solidarity and cooperation, upholding multilateralism and jointly dealing with challenges.

Noting that China is building a new development paradigm with the domestic market as the mainstay and the domestic and international markets reinforcing each other, Xi said China will more actively integrate into the global market and share its development opportunities with all countries.

China will continue to promote international exchanges and cooperation on education and science and technology, the president said, calling for members of the advisory board to offer their advice and suggestions on China’s development.

The advisory board was founded in 2000 and consists of scholars and entrepreneurs from multinationals, as well as Chinese officials.
