KOTA KINABALU, Dec 19 — Sabah government today issued standard operating procedure (SOP) for churches to observe when celebrating Christmas on Dec 25 during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period in the state.

State Local Government and Housing Minister Masidi Manjun, who is also Sabah’s official Covid-19 spokesman, said each prayer session, to be limited to one and a half hours, would be interspersed with 45-minute sanitation operations.

“It is compulsory to comply with the SOP by wearing face masks at all time. The use of toilets should also be limited according to the number of toilets available at any one time,” he said in a statement today.

Masidi, who is also the state Finance Minister II, also said that guests of open houses would only be allowed to be in the premises for not more than two hours and that the head of the family, including the guests, would be responsible to adhering to the SOP when celebrating Christmas.
