KUANTAN, Dec 26 — Several areas in the Raub district, about 198 km from here, have been struck by floods after continuous rain over several hours since late afternoon.
Raub Police chief Supt Kama Azural Mohamed said the heavy rainfall that started at about 6 pm today affected Jalan Dato Abdullah, Taman Raub Jaya 3, Jalan Tras and the area in front of TM Point and uprooted a tree on Jalan Taman Melati.
The old bus station and shops in the area were inundated by floodwaters, however, no evacuation was carried out, he told Bernama when contacted today.
Roads in the area were not closed as the rain began to let up around 8.15 pm and floodwaters subsided, he said, adding that the police would continue monitoring the affected areas.
