PUTRAJAYA,Jan 5: The health ministry has reported 2,027 Covid-19 cases and eight deaths in the past 24 hours.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,221 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 99,449.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 122,845.
There are 22,887 active cases with 123 patients being treated in intensive care and 52 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the eight deaths means the death toll is now 509.
