PETALING JAYA，Feb 8: The health ministry has reported 3,100 Covid-19 cases and 24 deaths in the past 24 hours. It’s the highest number of deaths in a day so far.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 2,340 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 192,679.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 245,552.
There are 51,977 active cases with 282 patients being treated in intensive care and 134 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the 24 deaths brings the number of fatalities to 896.
