KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 — Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah has congratulated two young Malaysian students for emerging among the top 10 in the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) examinations.
Istana Negara, in a statement uploaded on its Facebook page, said Al-Sultan Abdullah expressed his happiness and pride over Nurul Fatin Nabihah Hamdan and Siti Naziah Mohamad Nazid’s excellent achievements, which have enhanced the country’s name at the international level.
In the statement, His Majesty also expressed his admiration for the determination and fighting spirit exhibited by both students in tackling the challenges and difficulties they faced in pursuing their ambitions.
“Both students once again proved that Malaysia is capable of producing quality and charismatic individuals who are of international standard.
“It is hoped that their success can be a source of inspiration to all Malaysians, especially youths who are working hard and striving for success in their respective fields.
“The success also showed that with determination, assistance and guidance, students from the B40 group and asnaf (tithe recipients) are capable of doing excellently on the global stage if given the opportunity,” said Al-Sultan Abdullah.
He also wished the two students good luck and prayed that they would continue to achieve great success to make Malaysia proud on the international stage.
Nurul Fatin Nabihah, who graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UiTM) and was sponsored by Sime Darby foundation, obtained first place in Malaysia and seventh in the world for the Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) paper.
The eldest among four siblings, Nurul Fatin Nabihah lost her father when she was 11 and was later raised by her stepfather who works as a farmer, while her mother is a housewife.
Despite doing online learning throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) period, she also succeeded in passing another paper, Advanced Taxation (ATX).
Siti Naziah, who was funded by the Perak Islamic Religious Council and Malay Customs Council (MAIAMP), grabbed first place in Malaysia and ninth in the world for the Audit & Assurance (AA) paper.
Siti Naziah, the elder of two siblings, faced a great trial when she lost her father in 2018 due to cancer while she was busy preparing for the common admission test (CAT).
Both students, who are under the Malaysia Professional Accountancy Centre (MyPAC), were among 92,000 candidates across the globe who sat for the examination in March 2021.
