Kuala Lumpur May 6 : Former prime minister Najib Razak has been fined a total of RM3,000 for breaching Covid-19 SOPs before going into a chicken rice shop in Kuala Lumpur two months ago.

He was fined RM1,500 each of two offences, namely failing to take his temperature and registering himself manually or via MySejahtera before entering the premises.

Meanwhile, the shop’s manager Yeok Wei Hao was fined RM10,000 under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342) for failing to instruct Najib to register himself.

Previously, Najib had admitted that he was at fault and would pay the fine.
