KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 — Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has not received any official proposal from the government or private sector regarding the takeover of Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS) that went viral before this.

Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said MAHB has taken the initiative to brief Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on the latest situation of LTSAAS and the available plan under the “Subang Airport Regeneration” recently.

“The prime minister has given his assurance that any development proposal regarding airport will be referred to MAHB as the main stakeholder on behalf of the government.

“Therefore, we are confident with the prime minister’s commitment in ensuring LTSAAS remain as the country’s strategic and security asset,” he said in a statement after MAHB’s board meeting today.

Zambry said MAHB is confident that the proposal and views submitted to maintain LTSAAS as an aviation and aerospace hub would be maintained in line with the plan that has been drafted.

“LTSAAS now is the second most renown MRO (maintenance, repair and operation) centre in Asia and fourth in the world,” he added.
