Kuala Lumpur , May 29 — The health ministry has reported 9,020 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
This is the 1st time that daily cases have exceeded 9,000 since the pandemic began.
In a tweet, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 2,839, followed by Kelantan at 907, Seremban at 898 and Kuala Lumpur at 789.
Perlis, which is the smallest state in Malaysia, recorded the least number of new cases with 19 new infections, followed by the Federal Territories of Putrajaya at 29 and Labuan at 253.
