KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 — The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) today undertook a mission to deliver basic food items to residents of the Federal Territory of Labuan in areas placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

RMAF, in a statement, said the food aid was a contribution from the Ministry of Federal Territories following the implementation of the EMCO since June 15 after a surge in COVID-19 cases.

Among the basic necessities were rice, sugar, wheat flour and cooking oil, with an estimated total weight of about four tonnes, and the loading process began at 5 am.

The flight, piloted by Maj Aiman  Mohd Akbar and assisted by Capt Mohd Fuad Mohd Nazir, took off at 7 am.

Upon arrival at the Labuan Air Base at 11.20 am, the goods were handed over to the Labuan Corporation and the Social Welfare Department of Labuan for distribution to the identified communities.
