KUALA TERENGGANU, July 3  — Hulu Terengganu residents now enjoy better network coverage after three new telecommunications towers with 4G facility went into full operations on May 31.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), in a statement today, said the three new telecommunications towers are located at Kampung Kepah, Kampung Machang and Kolej Tingkatan Enam Hulu Terengganu (Hutecs).

“These three towers, built under the National Digital Network Plan (JENDELA), also benefit more than 3,000 residents in the surrounding areas such as Kampung Butut, Tok Hujib and Seri Bajar housing estates, Kampung Tengkawang and Kampung Matang.

“Their construction will also help to uplift the local residents’ standard of living and prepare them for the increasingly challenging digital era,” it said.

The tower project was completed following the working visit of MCMC chairman Dr Fadhlullah Suhaimi Abdul Malek and Hulu Terengganu Member of Parliament Datuk Rosol Wahid to these areas on March 6 this year.

The new telecommunications towers will also help teachers and students to undertake home-based teaching and learning more efficiently and effectively.
