KUALA TERENGGANU, July 12  — More than 1,000 residents in Kampung Rhu Sepuluh and Kampung Kuala Kubang in Setiu now enjoy better 4G telecommunication network, following operation of  two new communication towers under the National Digital Network Plan (JENDELA) since last June.

The Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), in a statement,  said the communication towers also benefitted and gave positive impact on the state’s tourism tourism as they were built near Penarik beach, a popular destination for tourists in Setiu.

“Improvement of 4G coverage under the MCMC-regulated JENDELA initiative in the Setiu parliamentary constituency will be implemented continuously with 15 more new towers being approved and expected to begin operation in stages beginning in the second quarter of 2022.

“Apart from that, work to upgrade coverage to 4G at the 78 existing towers is also being carried out and is expected to be completed for operation in stages beginning next month to March next year,” it said.
