KUALA LUMPUR, July 12 — Police have confirmed that Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa has been slapped with a RM2,000 compound for violating the standard operating procedure (SOP) to curb the spread of COVID-19.

“The case was investigated under Regulation 17, Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations (Measures within Infected Local Areas) (National Recovery Plan) 2021,” Dang Wangi district police chief ACP Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said in a statement today.

Annuar was reported to have visited former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at his home here on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the minister’s office, in a statement, said Annuar had received the compound notice from police and would settle it as soon as possible.
