SHAH ALAM, July 13 — Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) today announced that it would reduce the convocation fees for diploma and degree graduates by RM40.

UiTM protocol, media and public relations chief, Nora Noordin, said that the reduction for the 93, 94 and 95 academic sessions worth RM3 million was to help lessen the financial burden on graduates.

She added in the statement today that the reduction was automatic and for all levels, from doctorate degrees to diplomas.

She said that the cost has now been slashed to between RM110 and RM190.

She said the UiTM top management has also agreed that prevailing conditions will dictate if the convocation will take place physically this year.

“The final decision on how the ceremony will be held will be announced at an appropriate time,” said Nora.

She said that graduates who have already paid the fees will be asked to fill in a refund e-form, while a new invoice will be issued to those who haven’t.
