SEREMBAN, Aug 26  — The Negeri Sembilan government has approved 336 infrastructure maintenance projects, with an allocation of RM37.7 million, for economic stimulus under Phase 2 of the National Recovery plan (PPN) in the state, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

He said the projects will be carried out by 1,092 contractors which met the requirements set, out of 1,615 contractors who made online applications.

“The number of contractors who registered online comprises 55.01 per cent of the total bumiputra contractors registered under class G1. Each project is worth not more than RM100,000 and not less than RM80,000,” he said.

He said this during an online draw for road maintenance work under the Malaysian Road Records Information System (MARRIS) Phase Two, held today.

He added that the online draw focused on maintenance projects, such as roads and drains, to provide safe and comfortable infrastructure for road users.

He also said that the programme was also part of important infrastructure development to ensure that the people had access to basic amenities, increased productivity levels and improved service delivery.

Aminuddin also reminded the appointed contractors to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of the construction industry when carrying out the work, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

He said that the projects should commence not later than next month, and are to be completed before December, to enable payment for the completed work to be made immediately.
