KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 5 — Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia) has forged a collaboration with the Women Leadership Foundation (WLF) to develop leadership programmes specifically for women leaders in the country.
Huawei Malaysia through the Huawei ASEAN Academy, reiterates its long-term commitment in training digital talent in the country, contributing to the development of women’s workforce and leadership as well as ensuring Malaysia becomes a leading digital hub in ASEAN.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the cooperation which was signed at Huawei Malaysia’s headquarters here, among others, focuses on sharing the expertise of both parties to organise relevant academic programmes such as workshops, seminars and training.
Both parties will also work with industry players and experts to provide insights and advisory services to women leaders on the latest trends and innovations of the rapidly evolving technologies.
Huawei Malaysia chief executive officer Michael Yuan, in a statement today said the initiative was aimed at providing the necessary training to women to boost their competitiveness and enhance social integration in the digital economy.
“The collaboration with WFL is also aimed at harnessing talent and unearthing women’s leadership potential in the face of these challenging times,” he said.
Meanwhile, WFL chairman Datuk Dr Hafsah Hashim said the MoU would pave the way for the two parties to nurture more women leaders in the digital age.
“It is hope that we will be able to produce 2,500 visionary women leaders who will be equipped with skills on business analytics, big data, AI and blockchain that will help them make the right decision.
The statement also said that the Huawei ASEAN Academy aims to produce 50,000 information and communication technology talents in the next five years to meet the industry demand in addition to improving the quality of professional workers.
