GEORGE TOWN, Jan 18 — Former Penang state executive council member Datuk Danny Law Heng Kiang has quit DAP.

Law’s resignation letter was received by the Penang DAP today.

Penang DAP secretary Lim Hui Ying, in a statement, said the party respected Law’s decision and thanked him for his services and contributions.

Meanwhile, Law, when contacted by Bernama, said he had been with DAP for 35 years and was now looking for new direction.

When asked on a speculation that he would join Sabah-based Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan), he said: “time will tell”.

Law, 61, joined DAP in 1986 and won the Batu Lanchang state seat in the 2008 general election. He was also the state executive councillor for tourism development and culture from 2008 to 2018.
