Calling the resignation of two British judges “political arrangement,” Chief Executive Carrie Lam defended the rule of law in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) at a regular press conference on Thursday morning. Lam said she regretted the resignation of the UK Supreme Court’s Lord Robert Reed and Lord Patrick Hodge. She added that the National Security Law is “a very essential and legitimate legislation to restore law and order in Hong Kong.”
