KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 — Prasarana held an emergency response plan (ERP) simulation with disaster management agencies in preparation for the opening of the Putrajaya Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) project.

Prasarana in a statement today said the training held at Sri Damansara Sentral Station on March 22 involved officers and personnel of the Fire and Rescue Department, police, Selayang Hospital and the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).

The exercise code-named ‘X-PERT’ was the simulation of a car hitting a lamp post which falls onto the track between the Sri Damansara Sentral and Sri Damansara Barat stations before being hit by a four-car train heading to Kampung Batu.

Putrajaya Line MRT project director Datuk Amiruddin Ma’aris said the simulation was important to test the effectiveness of emergency drills as well as the reaction time of relevant government agencies in a real emergency.

“Rapid Rail as the operator and MRT Corp as the project developer and asset owner will continue to make improvements to ensure the level of service is reliable and comparable to world-class metro services,” he said.
