Hong Kong’s famous pop singer Yeung Chin-wah performed a song for classic Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) poetry in the musical variety show “Everlasting Classics” differently. The lyrics are from the poem written by Bai Juyi, a well-known poet of the Tang Dynasty. Bai’s official career was not satisfactory when he was demoted at 46. He walked in the mountain and did not expect to see such a bloom of peach blossoms as he thought the spring had gone in April. The poem expresses his wonder at such beautiful scenery, his love of spring, and his reflection on the fate of life.
