SINGAPORE, May 30 — Malaysia’s Minister of Communications and Multimedia Tan Sri Annuar Musa will be attending the Asia Tech x Singapore (ATxSG) 2022 as a co-panelist, at a session featuring communications ministers from around the world.

A statement issued here by his ministry said Annuar will be speaking at the session titled “Technology, Society and the Role of Policy” Tuesday (May 31), on the need for better connectivity in the digital economy and managing online misinformation.

The other co-panelists are Minister of Entrepreneurship and Information Technology (Estonia) Andres Sutt, Minister of Communications and Informatics (Indonesia) Johnny G Plate, and Chief Executive of Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum (UK), Gill Whitehead, said the ministry.

On the sidelines, Annuar will also hold bilateral meetings with his host and Singapore counterpart Josephine Teo, as well as Brunei Transport and Infocommunications Minister Dato Seri Setia Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Awang Mohammad Yusof.

Meanwhile, according to ATxSG website, dubbed to be the largest tech event hosted by Singapore since the reopening of its borders, the event will convene for four days until June 3, 2022.

ATxSG is headlined by the exclusive invitation-only ATxSummit to be held at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia here where the Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies Heng Swee Keat will be the Guest of Honour.

With a powerhouse lineup of more than 50 speakers and some 2,000 guests from government, business, and industry, the event will see robust discussion on a wide gamut of topics such as quantum computing, metaverse, and sustainability for a green digital future.

The line-up of speakers includes Josephine Teo and the republic’s Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung, who will be speaking at a panel session on ‘Rethinking Healthcare Within a Digital Landscape’.

 Malaysia’s Minister of Health Khairy Jamaluddin is also expected to speak at the Summit which is organised by the republic’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA).

ATxSG will also host senior executives from the world’s biggest and fastest-growing technology companies such as Amazon Web Services, Epic Games, Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Ping An Group.
