KUALA LUMPUR, June 2 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob conveyed his condolences to the family of former Chief of Defence Force Tan Sri Dr Abdul Rahman Abdul Hamid who died early today.

He expressed the government’s appreciation for Abdul Rahman’s sacrifices and deeds during his service with the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF).

“My condolence to Abdul Rahman’s widow, Puan Sri Rosilah Ahmad and all his family members. May they be patient in facing this test.

“Only Allah SWT can repay the services rendered by Abdul Rahman. Together we pray that he be placed among the believers and the pious,” said the prime minister in a posting on his Facebook page.

Abdul Rahman, who was the 11th Chief of Defence Force, died early today at the Tuanku Mizan Military Hospital (HTTM) here due to a lung infection. He was 83.

His remains were buried at the Raudhatul Sakinah Cemetery, Kem Perdana Sungai Besi here at 3.15 pm  with full military honours.
