KUALA LUMPUR, July 29 — Rumah Prihatin@Grand Seasons here plans to organise more blood donation drives.

Its executive director Datuk Mohd Irwan Rizal Mohd Ali Napiah said the blood donation campaign was inspired by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia (MenKOMM) Tan Sri Annuar Musa as the founder of Rumah Prihatin@Grand Seasons.

“What is unique about our blood donation campaign is that volunteers will assist donors right up to the end, including taking care of small children who can play at Rumah Prihatin ToyBank@Grand Seasons.

“In addition, Rumah Prihatin@Grand Seasons is in a former hotel building and each donor will receive a souvenir from the Federal Territory Foundation as well as a certificate signed by the MenKOMM,” he said in a statement today.

However, Mohd Irwan Rizal said the organisation of the campaign would depend on the availability of the National Blood Centre (PDN) to render its services.

He said the PDN provides expert staff to take charge of blood donations while Rumah Prihatin@Grand Seasons provides logistics and food for staff prepared by Dapur Prihatin@Rumah Prihatin volunteers.

According to him, it is hoped more young people and the community would participate in volunteer activities at Rumah Prihatin@Grand Seasons which can help train young people with potential to become leaders not only for themselves but for their families and the community as well.

Yesterday’s blood donation campaign was also attended by front-line personnel including firefighters the police, Social Welfare Department staff, Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council, Information Department, National Film Development Corporation (FINAS), RTM, volunteers and individuals.

Corporate bodies or individuals who wish to contribute or run a community development programme with Rumah Prihatin@Grand Seasons can contact its toll-free line at 1800 88 7997.
