KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 — An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale hit South Sumba, Indonesia at 8.18 am today.

According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), the quake occurred 355 kilometres south of Bima, Indonesia, and at a depth of 11 kilometres.

However, it did not pose any tsunami threat to Malaysia.
