BANGKOK (Thailand), Sept 17 — The delegation of Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) 16th Jelajah Ilmu (Knowledge Tour) programme enlivened the Malaysia Day celebration with a poem recitation and a silat performance last night.

The performance was carried out by members of the university’s Student Representative Council in a moderate celebration held at a restaurant here.

The Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who is also UniMAP Chancellor, is leading the delegation.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin was welcomed upon arrival by the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok, Suzilah Mohd Sidek.

At the celebration, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin also launched two traditional dishes to promote Perlis food, namely kurma daging and pulut mangga, which will be on the special menu at the Malaysian-owned Restoran Ibu here.

Earlier, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) president, presented the MAIPs Peduli donation of RM1,000 to the Mirasuddeen Mosque here.
