IPOH, Oct 15 — Gerakan will field 80 per cent of new faces as candidates in the 15th general election (GE15).
Its president, Datuk Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai said the Central Working Committee had decided to give opportunities to new faces selected from various backgrounds and races, who are highly experienced and can be accepted by the people.
“Gerakan candidates will be those who can win and are liked by the people and the party and can trigger changes and bring new hope to Perikatan Nasional (PN).
“GE15 is very important for Gerakan, and these winnable candidates can contribute to PN’s victory in the future,” he said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, Lau said the distribution of seats involving PN components, especially Gerakan, was almost finalised.
