COVID-19: PDRM WITDRAWS INTERSTATES TRAVEL RESTRICTION

KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (Bernama) — The Royal Malaysia Police has withdrawn its plan to impose interstates travel restriction due to COVID-19 outbreak.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador in a statement said the decision was made after the directive had caused congestion at police stations and bust terminals.

Therefore, the order for people to obtain a permit for interstates travel was temporarily suspended, he said.

The Movement Control Order announced by the government on Monday takes effect from March 18 to 31 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
