IPOH, Aug 4 — There are no COVID-19 cases of the Delta variant in Taman Perpaduan here, as was viralled via the WhatsApp application, said Perak state executive councillor (Exco) for Health, Environment and Green Technology Mohd Akmal Kamarudin.
He said this is fake news.
“Not true,” he said in a brief WhatsApp message to Bernama today.
Over the past 24 hours, WhatsApp messages were flying around saying that the Delta variant had infected residents in Taman Perpaduan which resulted in an increase in COVID-19 positive cases in the state.
Perak recorded 662 new COVID-19 cases today compared to 967 yesterday.
