Kelantan hopes political crisis will not disrupt efforts to tackle COVID-19

TUMPAT, Aug 4  — The Kelantan government hopes that the country’s current political crisis will not disrupt,  let alone jeopardise all efforts to tackle COVID-19.

“So far, Kelantan is not affected by this crisis. It’s just that we hope all efforts to handle COVID-19 will not be disrupted. That’s the most important thing now,” Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob told reporters here today.

He said as the head of the Kelantan government, he wanted to see peace and unity among the Malays who are upholding the noble traits of Islam.

Ahmad, who is also PAS deputy spiritual leader, said PAS and UMNO assemblymen in Kelantan are also in good relations and the people need not to worry about it.

“InsyaAllah, the Kelantan government will continue with its approach to help the people. We know 95 per cent of the state’s population are Malay,” he added.
