Ketengah allocates RM825,000 for selected school students in Terengganu

KUALA TERENGGANU,  April 11 — The Central Terengganu Development Authority (Ketengah) has allocated RM825,000 to be distributed to selected secondary and primary school students in the state through the Back to School Programme this year.

Its chairman, Datuk Razali Idris said the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, implemented every year through Ketengah Holding Sdn Bhd, benefited more than 5,500 students from the less affordable families.

“Ketengah is concerned with some members in the society who are struggling to provide for their children’s school needs following the rising cost of living and the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“However, this cannot be made an excuse to neglect the children’s education because education is the ticket for them to change their life for the better,” he said in a statement today.

He said the allocation had been distributed in stages since yesterday, with each student receiving cash of RM150.
