Three Chinese nationals among four killed in Karachi blast

NEW DELHI, April 26 — Four people, including three Chinese nationals, were killed in a bomb blast at the University of Karachi in Pakistan on Tuesday.

The bombing in Sindh province targetted a van near the gate of the university’s Confucius Institute, Pakistani media reported.

“We are investigating the incident, but it seems that the Chinese teachers were the target of the explosion,” Karachi police chief Ghulam Nabi Memon was quoted as saying in a report.

The institute’s director was among the dead.

A terrorist group known as the Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility over the blast.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah about the incident. Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan condemned the blast and sought a report from the Sindh police.
