Johor’s export trade over 42 pct higher last month

JOHOR BAHRU, Aug 27 — Johor’s export trade recorded the highest increase of RM9.3 billion (42.6 per cent) to RM31.1 billion in July.

Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said this shows the high volume of production from businesses in Johor and is an indication of the availability of job opportunities in the state.

He said the value of Johor’s imports also increased by RM7.1 billion (40.8 per cent) to RM24.4 billion for the same period, and this shows the high domestic demand in the state’s growing economy.

“In addition to the increasing amount of investment coming into Johor, this kind of figures will further inspire the state government to continue driving development so that the state remains one of the main contributors to the national economy,” said Onn Hafiz in a message via his official Facebook page today.

Onn Hafiz praised all private and public parties who have worked hard to ensure that Johor continues to be an excellent trading state.

“Hopefully all these efforts will help Johor achieve advanced status by 2030, thereby contributing to the well-being of the people for the future,” he said.
