KUALA LUMPUR, March 12  — In conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020, Penang Global Tourism (PGT) today launched its ‘Experience Penang 2020’ campaign with the tagline ‘The Diversity of Asia’.

PGT chief executive officer Ooi Chok Yan said the roadshow was not just to highlight Penang’s amazing diversity in culture, heritage, arts, food and natural surroundings, but also to promote its new attractions to locals and foreigners.

“New attractions are continuously being introduced in Penang. Why? Because we want to ensure there’s something new to discover with each visit and to keep visitors occupied.

“Now is ‘Cuti-Cuti Malaysia’, a time to get to know more about our country, especially Penang,” he said, adding that PGT was looking forward to enhancing domestic tourism and boosting the country’s economy.

Penang boasts many unique attractions, such as the world’s first tower curved skywalk (Komtar), world’s highest ropes course (Komtar), world’s first free standing vertical drop slide (Tech Dome), world’s highest altitude stressed ribbon bridge (Penang Hill), world’s first tropical butterfly and insect sanctuary (Penang Butterfly Farm) and world’s longest water slide (Escape Theme Park).

PGT will also take part in the three-day National MATTA Fair from May 1.
