Feb 14 MCI News:China Construction Bank (Malaysia) Berhad (“CCBM”) and China Construction Bank Corporation Labuan Branch (“CCBL”) roll out measures to help clients overcome the impact of Covid-19 .

  1. The Bank is  to consider granting a moratorium of up to six months for monthly instalment loan payments  to existing customers affected by COVID-19 outbreak. Affected customers can approach the Bank to discuss and reschedule their payment arrangements. The moratorium will be granted by the Bank on a case-by-case basis after taking into account all the prevailing factors and circumstances. 
  1. Targeted measures such as priority loan processing and lower lending rates may be offered to customers engaging in the business of manufacturing or trading of medical devices or medical supplies as well as those involve in scientific research and development of medical sciences in supporting the relief effort relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. The provision of the targeted measures is subject to assessments by the Bank on a case-by-case basis and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.  
  1. The Bank has since 29 January 2020 waived all fees for the following remittances or funds transfers:

      a)Remittances or funds transfer to Mainland China (regardless of their purpose);

b)Remittances or funds transfer to other countries (other than Mainland China) for the  purpose of supporting the relief efforts relating to the outbreak of the COVID-19;

c)Remittances or funds transfer within Malaysia for the purpose of supporting the relief efforts relating to the outbreak of the COVID-19.
