KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 (Bernama) — The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) has activated its Business Continuity Management plan, implementing a Work-From-Home policy for its employees from March 18-31.

In a statement today, MDEC said the move is in accordance with the enforcement of the nationwide Movement Control Order from March 18-31 which was announced by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yesterday to address the Covid-19 threat faced by the country.

To minimise disruptions to its operations, MDEC will be utilising digital communications tools and technologies such as video and tele-conferencing, remote working collaborative platforms and online customer experience to connect with all external stakeholders as well as its employees.

“For employees who are required to be physically present in the office, MDEC has already taken the necessary steps to ensure their health and welfare are taken into consideration while they are at their workplace,” it said.

MDEC said it has also launched a campaign to raise awareness and to mitigate the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic with a series of short videos across its social media channels.
