PUTRAJAYA June 20 : The health ministry today announced 21 new Covid-19 cases, with 12 cases involving Malaysians.

This brings the infection tally to 8,556, with 289 active cases still receiving treatment as of noon today.

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also announced that 76 recoveries were recorded over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 8,146, or 95.2 % of the total number of infections.

From the 21 new cases reported today, two are imported cases. The remaining 19 cases involved seven foreigners in Malaysia and 12 Malaysians.

The seven foreigners are from Kuala Lumpur and they are house mates.

While within Malaysians, seven are from tahfiz schools and madrasahs, one from the Lanjut cluster, one from an old folks’ home and one heath frontliner.
