ALOR GAJAH, Jan 9 — The government is formulating a post-flood action plan to restore people’s houses ravaged by floods, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Yusof.

He said various federal and state agencies would work together to help flood victims to clean, repair, and rebuild their houses severely affected by the natural disaster.

“There are certain allocations planned by several ministries, Social Welfare Department (JKM), among others to ensure we have the machinery to restore the situation, including building or replacing flood victims’ houses, if necessary,” he told reporters after officiating the Back to School Programme here today.

The flood situation in five states has slightly improved as more flood relief centres were closed this morning and a total of 43,791 victims remained in relief centres in Pahang, Terengganu, Kelantan, Johor and Perak compared to 47,038 yesterday evening.

Mohd Redzuan, who is also Alor Gajah Member of Parliament presented vouchers worth RM150 to 1,100 students from low-income families (B40) to help them buy school supplies.
