PETALING JAYA,Mar 23: Political party MUDA is rallying support for Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Abdul Hamid Bador to take action against the “dirty cops” cartel and bring them to justice.

Calling for the people to back the IGP on the issue, MUDA also urged the police to be transparent with any investigation or enquiry into the cartel.

At a press conference today, MUDA pro tem secretary-general Amir Hariri Abd Hadi said the party had found the IGP’s “unprecedented” revelation that corruption in the police went all the way to the top very alarming.

“The police force is an indispensable part of our nation’s governance. There is no authority more vital to ensure the protection of the people and their peace,” he said.

He also called for the police to reveal the names of all those involved in the cartel, be they former IGPs, politicians or even businessmen.

“Although we are relieved to know that internal investigations are under way, we hope that the final report can be published for all Malaysians to see.”

MUDA also called for a Royal Commission of Inquiry to be established to investigate the issue of the police cartel.
