Kuala Lumpur April 30 — Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani is to be the new Inspector-General of Police.

He replaces Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador who will retire on May 3, after two years on the job.

Acryl Sani’s appointment will take effect on May 4.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin presented Acryl Sani with his appointment letter on Friday (April 30).

Also present were deputy minister Datuk Seri Ismail Mohamed Said, senior officials from the Home Ministry and members of the Police Force Commission (SPP).

Acryl Sani, 59, has wide experience in policing and has helmed several departments in Bukit Aman, including the Commercial Crime Investigation Department, the Strategic Resources and Technology Department (StaRT) as well as the Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department.

He was appointed as the Deputy IGP on Aug 14,2020.
