PETALING JAYA, May 25 — The health ministry has reported 7,289 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

This is the first time that daily cases have exceeded 7,000 since the pandemic began.

In a tweet, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 2,642, followed by Johor at 664 cases and Kuala Lumpur at 604.

Every state and Federal Territory in Malaysia has recorded new cases.

Perlis, which is the smallest state in Malaysia, recorded the least number of new cases with eight new infections, followed by the Federal Territories of Putrajaya at 23 and Labuan at 63.
